Nebraska Innovation Studio has a wide and ever expanding variety of tools for members to use and make projects for a business, hobby, class project or prototyping. Most of our equipment requires a safety and operational (SOP) training course before gaining access to that piece of equipment.

Wood Shop + CNC

The wood shop offers a wide variety of tools to accommodate traditional woodworking as well as advanced CNC work. Members gain access to the equipment by completing a Safety and Operational (SOP) training course led by NIS staff. Similar tools are grouped together in a single class. You can sign up for these through the Innovation Studio Manager.

Our CNC equipment can handle a variety of materials in 2D and 3D.  Design and modeling software is available at each of our workstations as well as our 12 station computer lab.

Ceramics

NIS has a complete suite of tools for ceramic creation, and offers free kiln firings twice per week for Studio members for both bisque and glaze. Kilns are scheduled to fire up to Cone 6 on a scheduled basis each week by NIS staff.

Electronics + Rapid Prototyping

  • (4) Epilog Fusion Pro Laser Cutters, able to cuts up to 1/2" wood as well as acrylic, paper, fabric, leather, rubber and foam. Engraves all cuttable materials as well as stone, metal, and glass. No vinyl, polycarbonate or PVC.
  • Stratasys F770 Large format FDM 3D printer with an 24" x 24" x 40" printable area. Can print ABS or ASA with QSR-30 soluble support material.
  • (6) Ultimaker 2+ and Ultimaker 3 3D printers with an 8" x 8" x 8" printable area. Can print in PLA, ABS, CPE, CPE+, PC, Nylon, TPU 95A plastics.
  • (2) Form3 and (1) Form3L resin 3D printers. Ultra high resolution printers that print a wide variety of resin materials.
  • Fuse 1+ 30W SLS 3D printer configured for Nylon 12.
  • MarkForged Mark 2 Carbon Fiber 3D printer with a 12.6" x 5.2" x 6" print volume. Can print Onyx, nylon white plastic with carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar®, HSHT fiberglass.

Graphics Studio

Our graphics studio offers members the ability to create unique visuals on a variety of mediums, including shirts, posters, flyers, cards or anything else they put their mind to. Our equipment covers step one to step done. Our high quality Epson printer allows you to print photo quality prints for any project.

Textiles

Our textiles area features sewing machines for industrial or light-duty use. We also offer a long-arm quilting machine capable of sewing up to 14' quilts.
